Vision

To see a global movement of fluent Bible translators, teachers, and scholars—especially from Europe and the Global South—who handle the Greek New Testament and Hebrew Bible with fluency, depth, accuracy, and joy. We envision a world where the biblical languages are not merely decoded but lived, read, translated, and spoken—opening new dimensions of understanding and transforming both teaching and translation. We dream of a generation where students not only learn Greek and Hebrew but use them actively and confidently throughout their ministries, significantly reducing the number of former Biblical language students who never apply what they've learned, and instead building God's Kingdom through deep, accurate understanding of His Word.

Mission

Driven by Tyndale's passion for advancing God's Kingdom worldwide, our mission is to train Bible translators, translation advisors, seminary students, teachers, and scholars to attain genuine fluency in Koine Greek and Biblical Hebrew through an active, communicative method of instruction integrated with grammatical theory and translation practice. We aim to move learners beyond mechanical decoding toward an internalized understanding of the languages that leads to greater precision, cultural insight, and theological depth. We seek to empower mother-tongue translators around the world and in the Global South to engage directly with the Scriptures in their original languages, while equipping teachers worldwide to use and multiply immersive pedagogies in their own contexts. Through rigorous academic training, flexible delivery formats, and strategic scholarships, we make high-quality Biblical language education accessible across cultures and continents.

Our name

TAAL stands for Tyndale Academy of Ancient Languages, as well as being the Dutch word for 'language'.
