The Tyndale Academy of Ancient Languages (TAAL) teaches Biblical languages and other languages that support Biblical studies. We mainly use the Direct Inductive Contextual method but in combination with other theories and techniques used in Second Language Acquisition (SLA). All four skills—reading, listening, speaking, and writing—are used alongside explicitly learning the grammar within the language, thus developing a natural sense of grammar and activating multiple sections of the brain.
TAAL's (prospective) students come from all around the globe and are:
Christians wanting to read the Bible in its original languages
those involved in Bible translation
those teaching Biblical languages
anyone interested in learning these languages from an academic point of view
We offer individual courses and a one-year certificate program. Students choose between Greek and Hebrew,
and between pedagogy or translation.
Every course that makes up the program can be taken
individually. Courses are offered in person and online.
Each course costs €55 (Euros) per ECTS.
Classes are 4 or 5 ECTS, so cost €220 or €275.
Scholarships can be requested.
There are no educational entry requirements for our language courses. It is helpful if you speak and read English,
but we have not set any entry level requirements.
Some courses follow on from others or are tailored
specifically towards those teaching or going to teach.
